New gender neutral and universal washrooms - Ottawa Campus

As part of Algonquin College’s commitment to inclusion, diversity, and eliminating barriers to the College community, Facilities Management will initiate significant renovations to multiple washrooms at the Ottawa Campus starting May 23, 2023, and will continue into the fall of 2023.

The first phase of the project will include the following:

Four-Corners washroom renovation in A Building. This project will deliver 12 gender neutral washroom stalls, three accessible washrooms, a universal washroom with an adult lift/changing table and a dedicated nursing room.
Add a universal washroom in the P Building by renovating and expanding the existing washroom P109.
Renovating the E Building universal washroom E127 to the most current accessibility code.

The construction activities will start May 23, 2023, and the current four-corner washrooms, P109 and E127 washrooms will be closed. The project schedule is indicating completion in September–October 2023. Alternate washrooms are located as per the following sketches, sketches can be found on the Facilities Management website. Also, the construction team will provide signage/wayfinding on the three different sites.

During the construction period, there may be some noise and odor due to the age of the four-corner washrooms. The project team appreciates your patience and understanding during the course of this work.
