Reminder: Ottawa Campus electrical shutdown - June 23-28

June 19, 2023
The Algonquin College Facilities Management department is coordinating a campus electrical shutdown June 23-28 to replace the antiquated switchgear that services the whole Ottawa Campus, east of Woodroffe Ave. Facilities Management has been working for three years to have the new switchgear designed, manufactured and now installed on campus.

Due to the complexity of the replacement, there are very limited opportunities to ensure this occurs in a planned manner. Facilities Management is planning the shutdown for the mid-term break as the August long weekend does not provide sufficient time to complete the changeover. There are no further planned electrical shutdowns for the switchgear replacement.
