I am excited to announce that Adam Shane has been appointed as Academic Chair of the Applied Science and Environmental Technology Department within the School of Advanced Technology. Adam has a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from McMaster University as well as a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He joined the faculty at the College of the North Atlantic in Qatar where he taught biology and chemistry courses for eight years. Adam then stepped into the role of Program Chair in the School of Applied Science and Engineering and has served in that capacity for the past three and a half years. During his tenure at CNA-Qatar, he has been instrumental in the development of a new program and active in applied research with a variety of industry partners.
Adam brings excellent leadership and vision, strong experience, and new perspectives to the ASET Department and the greater Algonquin community. He will officially begin his new position on Jan. 15.
